Course Overview:


Our "Two Year Diploma Programme of Art Appreciation Course in Painting" is your gateway to exploring the world of art in-depth. This comprehensive course, affiliated by Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, covers a wide range of topics, from the fundamentals of art to advanced painting techniques. You'll have the opportunity to work with experienced instructors and fellow artists, enabling you to develop your artistic skills to their full potential.

Syllabus - 1st Year


Theory: Paper-1 History of Indian painting

Unit-1 Six Limbs of Indian painting (Aesthetics)

Unit-2 Brief history of Indian traditional painting such as Ajanta,

Jain, Mughal, Rajasthani, Pahari, Bengal School and Contemporary Painting of

Chhattisgarh,

Unit-3 Indian eminent artist-Raja Ravi Verma, Abanindranath

Tagore, Nandlal Bosh, Amrita Sher-Gil, Narayan Shridhar

Bendre, Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar ( K.K Hebbar), Ram kumar, Jagdish

Swaminathan


Practical: Paper-2 Drawing

Drawing from single objects –Cubes, Cones, Cylindrical Objects and Group of

Objects, Head Study (Antique), Study of forms in Nature in line, Tone

Shade.

(Medium- Pencil, Charcoal, Crayon)


Practical: Paper-3 Design 2D

ï‚· Study of two dimensional space and its organizational possibilities, elements of

Pictorial expression, related to concepts of space and forms study of various types

of objects (Nature and Manmade)

ï‚· Developing an awareness of pictorial elements such as points, Line, Shape,

Volume, Texture, Light and Colour and other basic design problems.

(Medium-Pencil, Pen & Ink, Water Colour, Poster Colour, Pastel, Crayon,

Wax pencil, etc.)


Practical: Paper-4 Copy from Old Master (painting)

Ajanta, Mughal, Rajasthani, Pahari, Bangal School

(Medium-Water Colour, Poster Colour, Tempera,

Acrylic)

Sessional: Each paper-Minimum 8 works, Paper size- ¼ Imperial

(Sessional works will be submitted to the Department one week before the

commencement of examination and it will be returned after the

evaluation)


Syllabus - 2nd Year


Paper-1 Project

Fundamental of Art- Element of Painting- Line, Form, Tone, Texture, Space, colour,

Principal of Composition-Proportion, Balance, Dominance, Harmony, Rhythm, Unity,

Perspective, Texture.

Methods and Material- Drawing And Painting Equipments, Tools and Their uses –pencil,

Eraser, Charcoal, Board, Brushes, Paper, Canvas.

Oil painting and Acrylic painting: Tools Equipments and Methods and Technique-

Structure, Linseed oil, Turpentine oil, Palettes, Dippers, Brushes, Easels Spatula etc.

(Note-Student should select one topic (listed above suggested areas in consultation from

the Head of Department to prepare and submit the project)


Practical: Paper-2 Drawing

Nature Drawing –

(a) To develop the sense of structure. Study from any kind of forms in earthen pot, shells,

butterflies, flowers, plants, insects, minerals, Skeleton etc. To understand how these

forms achieve their structural unity through adherence to principles with physical nature

of the material being observed and studied through various rendering media and

techniques in different light conditions.

(b) Drawing from human figure-mainly based on general form and gesture.

ï‚·Still Life/Antique Head Study (colour)- Observed and studied in various rendering media

and techniques in different light conditions.

(Medium-Water Colour, Acrylic Colour, Dry Pastel, Oil Pastel etc.)


Paper-3 Creative Composition

(Figurative and Non Figurative)

(Medium- Oil colour, Acrylic Colour, Water Colour, Dry Pastel, Oil Pastel, Mixed

Media, etc.)


Paper-4 Exhibition and Viva

Sessional work:

Each paper-Minimum 8 works, Paper size- ½ Imperial

(Sessional works will be submitted to the Department after Exhibition and Viva

Examination. Sessional work may be returned after the evaluation)


Terms and Conditions:


Before you apply, please take note of the following important terms and conditions:


1. Limited Scholarships : Only 30 students will be selected for this season's scholarship program. Ensure your application stands out.

2. Attendance Requirement : Students must maintain a minimum attendance of 80% throughout the program.

3. Course Duration: The course begins on 20th November 2023 and ends after the session exams of the 2023-24 & 2024-25 academic year.

4. Discipline and Rules : Adherence to class discipline and all institute rules and regulations is mandatory for scholarship recipients.

5. Campus Location : The scholarship is only valid for studying at the Chhapaak Institute of Art & Design, Shankar Nagar, Raipur Campus. The course is affiliated with Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh.

6. Exam Fees : Students are responsible for exam fees. The cost is Rs. 5,000 for the first year and Rs. 6,000 for the second year.

7. Honesty Declaration : All information provided in your application must be true and accurate.

8. This scholarship Programm is not for Previous & Present students of Chhapaak Institute of Art & Design.
